Sanibel welcomes Award-winning Composer Corey Wallace and Gaga: Five Foot Two Editor Nick Bradford
November 2023 – As Sanibel enters its final stages of post-production, we are delighted to welcome two accomplished creative talents who will help shape the film’s ultimate form. Nick Bradford, known for his work on Gaga: Five Foot Two (2017), Religion of Sports (2016) with creator Gotham Chopra, and The Revenant (2015), steps in as our documentary editor. Joining him is Corey Wallace, a Chicago-born composer who contributed to Supercell (2023), F** Marry Kill* (2024), Cursed Friends (2022), and 24 episodes of The Walking Dead. With 13 award wins and 4 nominations under his belt, Wallace brings a track record of critical acclaim to Sanibel. This marks his second collaboration with director Jamie Winterstern, following their successful partnership on Supercell.
Bradford’s editorial voice offers a unique blend of documentary nuance and cinematic intensity. He has proven adept at illuminating the human stories behind cultural phenomena—be it Lady Gaga’s raw vulnerability, the spiritual dimension of sports, or the emotional depths of narrative drama. For Sanibel, Bradford will guide a year’s worth of footage, filmed before and after Hurricane Ian, into a cohesive tapestry that reflects the island’s cultural richness and the resilience of its people.
Complementing Bradford’s editorial storytelling, Corey Wallace’s compositions will breathe life into the film’s visual narrative. His music has elevated both narrative and documentary projects, and his versatile style will underscore Sanibel’s emotional rhythms—from the serene early morning shelling rituals to the community’s struggle and triumph in rebuilding after the storm. Wallace’s longstanding rapport with Jamie Winterstern ensures a seamless integration of sound and image, forging a powerful emotional connection with audiences.
With these two seasoned professionals on board, Sanibel moves closer to its final form. Stay tuned to SanibelMovie.com for further updates as we finalize this documentary and prepare to share the island’s story with the world.
